BCM's mid-length gas tube is machined from 304 stainless steel and treated with a nitride finish for corrosion resistance and heat tolerance. The tube is roll-pinned from the factory to the gas key captured within the tube, ensuring consistent alignment and eliminating the possibility of the key rotating and blocking gas flow. BCM's tubes are gauged for inner diameter consistency — a critical variable since an undersized tube bore restricts gas flow and can cause short-stroking, while an oversized bore allows gas to escape around the bolt carrier key. Available in carbine, mid-length, intermediate, and rifle lengths.
