BCM's H (heavy) carbine buffer weighs 3.8 oz, providing slightly increased mass over the standard 3.0 oz buffer to reduce carrier velocity and improve reliability with suppressed fire or rifle-length gas systems on carbine-length rifles. The additional weight smooths out the felt recoil impulse, making follow-up shots faster and more consistent. Constructed with a steel body and tungsten weights, this buffer is dimensioned to fit any mil-spec carbine buffer tube. Many builders use an H buffer as their default even in unsuppressed builds for the improved recoil character.
