BCM's mil-spec carbine receiver extension is machined from 7075-T6 aluminum with a 1.14-inch outer diameter, providing a proper mil-spec fit for any mil-spec stock. The surface is anodized and then hard-coat treated, giving it a noticeably tougher surface than budget-oriented buffer tubes. The threads are cut to the tight end of the spec so the tube torques down solidly to the lower without play. Six detent positions provide a full range of length-of-pull adjustment. If you're pairing this with a BCM lower and stock, you'll get a notably tight, rattle-free assembly that doesn't loosen up with extended use.
