Wolff's Extra Power carbine buffer spring is wound from chrome-silicon wire to a higher tension spec than standard mil-spec springs, providing more reliable bolt lockup and return to battery in adverse conditions. The increased tension is particularly beneficial in rifles running suppressed, in cold weather, or with heavier bolt carrier groups where a standard spring may not fully return the carrier under all conditions. Wolff has manufactured firearm springs for decades and maintains tight tolerances on spring rate and free length. A straightforward upgrade that can eliminate intermittent failures to return to battery.
