BCM's 14.5-inch mid-length barrel represents one of the most popular configurations in the AR-15 market — the balance of ballistic performance, gas system reliability, and overall rifle length makes it a favorite for duty rifles and hard-use carbines. The mid-length gas system at 14.5 inches provides a substantially softer recoil impulse than the carbine-length system on the same barrel, reducing carrier velocity and heat buildup during extended firing. The government profile maintains mass at the gas block journal for improved harmonic consistency. Machined from mil-spec 4150 chrome-moly vanadium with a chrome-lined bore and chamber for maximum durability under sustained fire. The 1:7 twist handles M855, M855A1, Mk262, and Mk318 service ammunition equally well.
