Faxon's 10.5-inch GUNNER profile barrel was developed as a compromise between the heavy government profile and the ultra-light pencil profile, removing material from non-critical areas while retaining the mass ahead of the gas block that contributes to harmonic consistency and heat dissipation. Chambered in .223 Wylde with a 1:7 twist rate, this barrel handles 62-77 grain projectiles reliably — particularly important in short-barrel configurations where all the velocity advantage of a heavier, higher BC bullet can be extracted. The pistol-length gas system is tuned for the 10.5-inch length, and the barrel is nitride-treated inside and out for corrosion resistance. Faxon machines their barrels in Cincinnati, Ohio, and 100% air-gauge inspects each bore before shipping.
